Sometimes your change agent comes along when you least expect
I've known Brett for over 35 years as a tennis friend. Although I didn't witness how his health deteriorated (I have a good idea about this), I did witness his personal transformation firsthand, when we began playing paddle and pickleball together.
Initially, I thought his approach, while successful, was risky because of my preconceived notions surrounding saturated fat and animal-based foods. But then I suffered my own health problem, a heart attack, and learned that the primary driver was insulin resistance related to just marginal weight gain from sugar, refined grains and seed oils. My story can be viewed on our first episode of our joint channel @metabochondriacs.
Brett has a wealth of knowledge and is very passionate about helping others. Through his persistent but caring approach, I began to unlearn and then relearn. This opened my eyes to a wealth of information that contradicts conventional medical and nutritional teaching.
With this new knowledge, I now understand of the root cause of my patients conditions. This allows me to provide care that reverses conditions instead of trying to manage them. This has resulted in a tenfold improvement in patient care in the last five years compared to my previous twenty years of practice.
Like most physicians, I was suffering from burnout before understanding metabolic therapy. But now, each day has become a joy, knowing I am healing my patients. Burnout is a thing of the past.
Brett has combed the literature for thousands of hours, and his extensive corporate wellness and disease management background gives him an invaluable perspective. He has a firm grasp on nutrition as well as other disciplines that are intimately tied to optimal functioning biology/physiology, disease reversal, wellness, and longevity.
I continue to lean on Brett for his wisdom as I navigate my own personal health journey, and I am thrilled to collaborate with him on our YouTube Channel mentioned above.
